I don’t really rely on the stick-on thermometers that go inside the aquarium! I have used these, and they are based on a color coding system. I am not big on reading slight changes in hue variations, so it was hard to tell what the temperature was most of the time. The LCD digital display attaches via a suction cup on the outside of the tank.
When I saw this digital thermometer, I knew it would be a lot better than the stick-ons. I easily attached the LCD screen on the outside of my tank and put the cord with the Reader tip into your tank. It is working great in my 55-gallon fresh water aquarium, and my fish are not bothered by this and in fact, every once in a while, peck at it, like it is one of the plants in the tank.
