I have a 50-gallon aquarium and I change out the water once a month and refill it when it goes down about an inch or so, which is about once a week. For some reason, water tends to evaporate quick here, mainly because I guess I live in Arizona. I do have skittish fish, so when I change or fill the water, they tend to not eat for a while.
I live in a town that is known for not having the best water – a lot of people used bottled water or tend to have water filtration. Being a 50-gallon tank, that would be quite a bit of bottled water, and I can’t afford the water filtration. I saw this advertised, and I liked the fact that it wasn’t a fizzy tablet or an add-in that seems to look filmy when it goes in.
I also like the fact that it replaces my fishes slime coats, reduces stress, and removes the chemical that is found in our water. It is a small bottle – it is 1 capful per 2 gallons, and I have a 50-gallon tank, (50/2 = 25 capfuls). By the time I was done, only had about a ¼ of a bottle left.
I noticed that my fish ate shortly after I changed out my water and added the 25 capfuls. I feel better knowing that not only does it make the water safe, but helps my fish in the process.
