I have seen these around and always wondered how they worked – charging without plugging in was a new concept for me. So, not like I didn’t have enough chargers in my house or in my vehicles, I didn’t have a wireless charger yet, so I ordered it.
I have to say, yes, it is wireless, but not completely. Yes, you don’t need a cord to connect it to your phone, but you do need to plug the charger into a USB for it to charge your phone. I didn’t know that, I thought it would be like my power bank and not have to be plugged into a wall or computer. I do like the charger very much, however. I have an LG G2, and when I set it on the charger, it lit up with the display saying “Wireless Charging – 85%”. The outside ring of the device glows a soft blue when charging, but only when my phone is on it. It also glows blue when you first plug it in.
It didn’t take long to fully charge my phone, and I was most impressed. I like that all you have to do is set your phone on the circle. However, there is a certain spot on your phone that has to stay on it. The device charges better when the bottom of it is set on it. It doesn’t work on all phones, though. I guess certain phones have a “chip” to have the ability to charge, and some don’t. My son has an LG Transpyre, and it does not work, and also a Moto phone we attempted – to no avail. So, for now, this is only good to charge my phone. I don’t mind, because that way I know that no one else in my house will have a need for it!
