Many uses for these simple bandanas!!

I originally got these because my son is doing a play at school and it calls for a farmhand. He part calls for attire that farmers would wear, and I figured that bandanas would be a benefit to his costume. The bandanas that we have around the house are either too decorative, worn out, or definitely not something one would wear on stage (destroyed).

When we got these, I liked that it came with 3 colors: blue, black, and red. They aren’t rough, so if you go to wipe sweat off your face from yard work, it won’t scratch or irritate your face.

I happen to get one of these saturated with water, wring it out somewhat, roll it like it would go on your neck, put it in a sandwich bag and put it in the freezer for a few hours. When you get warm from doing work outside, take it out of the bag in the freezer and apply it to the back of your neck – it makes your work involving the outside a lot less miserable.

I have also used one to cover my hair when I go outside as well. My hair isn’t easy to manage, and this saves me from having to take care of it every hour or so. My son has chosen the one he wants to use for his role in the play, so until after the play, I only have 2. I am sure he’ll find a use for it afterwards, but at least they will get used because they are very versatile. The only thing I suggest would to make them a little bit thicker!

No more little red bumps!!

I have sensitive skin when it comes to shaving, whether legs or underarms. I even use sensitive skin shaving gel, and I still tend to itch, get little bumps that resemble goosebumps, or become extremely dry in that area and looks ashy. I have used lotions, but some I use tend to sting or be somewhat runny, which is a waste and makes a mess.

I like this product for a couple of reasons. One, is the fact that it is in a squeeze tube and not a pump or a pour. The cream is thick, so when you do go to get some, it doesn’t just pour out the tube. It goes on pretty evenly, and doesn’t leave a greasy feel to my legs or my hands. The scent isn’t overpowering, in fact, it barely has a scent at all.

I have used this a couple times after shaving my legs, and it doesn’t sting or run. I haven’t had the red bumps appear on my legs, nor have I had any dry patches. I have to say, this cream works well on my sensitive legs. I use maybe a dime-size amount, and that seems to do the trick for both legs – a little goes a long way.

Teen says bass sound is better than his wireless headsets!

Let’s say, my son goes through his share of headsets. He actually has a couple pair, both Bluetooth. He forgets to charge them half the time, and complains that he doesn’t have anything to listen to his
phone with.

I saw this headset, and the fact that it actually was one you had to plug into your device with a headphone jack, and not connect via Bluetooth.

When I got the headset, I had mentioned to him that I had gotten him a set that you actually have to plug in and not have to worry about his headsets ever needing charging, should he forget…typical teenager. What I liked about it was they were earbuds, and not the ones that go over your ears. He has a bad habit of laying down with them on, and the buds make it easier.

The cord is long enough to set your device down and actually move around, but not too much, or else you would have Bluetooth hooked up. It has all the capabilities of one, which is another thing he benefits from. The control device on the cord has a play/pause feature, as well as a built-in microphone, for your hands-free calling. He compliments that the bass on them has a smooth and better quality than his wireless sets, and that the sound isn’t “tinny” compared to his others as well. So for being a “wired” set, he likes them better than his “wireless” sets, and coming from a teenager, that is saying something!

Easy to Grip Apple Slicer makes cutting easier!!

I have an apple slicer already, but I thought it was about due for a trade-in. The one I had was all metal, beginning to rust on the handles, and was becoming a bit dull to slice.

It was only good for cutting the smaller apples, and not the big red or yellow ones. I wanted more than just Granny Smith’s apples, and this new slicer looks like it could take the job.

I like the fact that the only metal exposed is the stainless steel slicing “blades” themselves.

My old one, everything was exposed and hurt my hands when I pushed down on the apple, and occasionally my hands would slip. I like the sturdiness of this slicer, and the easy grip, non-slip handles. It seems to give your hands more of a better grip, not to mention you can put just your palms down on the sides and give it a good push. Occasionally, you will come across a stubborn, hard to cut apple, and I am sure this slicer is up for the task.

It is easy to wash – I hand wash, because I do not have a dishwasher. I know that is dishwasher-safe, so for those out there, you can go either way. Quick safety tip though: I know a lot of little ones want to be independent and do things for themselves, including getting their own snacks. This may seem tempting for them, but since it has the sharp edges, I would just make sure there is someone to supervise – that way they can still do it themselves, for the most part!

Great 3-in-1 cord! Need to find out what else to charge with this!

There is one thing that a person that has cell phones, tablets, and Bluetooth devices needs, and that is extra USB cords to charge them all. They usually all come with their own cords, but after a while, they get lost, damaged, or just don’t want to work anymore.

I like that it comes with 3 different options to charge your devices. I only have a need for one of them right now, because that is the one that fits all of my devices, at the moment. I do not know what the other two plug into, but that is something that I will be willing to find out when the time comes. I have used this on our phones, my tablet, all of our Bluetooth headsets, and to power our wireless charger. It came in a coiled position, and it likes to pretty much stay in that position.

This makes it easier to wrap up when not in use, too. I like that the cord has a protective clear coating surrounding it, to prevent and damage or unnecessary bending, I would imagine.

I have many adapters that I can plug it into, as well, as charging with it attached to my laptop. Although, if you are like me, I prefer to plug it into an outlet, because my laptop will go into hibernation mode or shut itself off after updates, and your device that is charging wouldn’t be charging at that time. Just a piece of helpful advice I have found out. Basically, it is a good charging cord, and I am glad I got it.

Makes cleaning aquariums a breeze now!

I have a 55 gallon and a 20-gallon tank, which needed a good cleaning. I have a cleaner that I use, but it was a pain to start. I had to pump the tube up and down in the tank to get it started, and if that didn’t work I had to do the gross thing – I have to suck on the hose end like a straw to get it started and hope that I didn’t get nasty tank water in my mouth.

And a lot of the time, I would have to shake the tube to loosen up the tank gravel that would get stuck up in it and prevent suction.

There are a few things I like about this cleaner. I like the fact that it has a filter that “breaks” down the fish poop, and makes it easier to pass through the hose. The squeeze device located on it makes it easier for me not to have to pump the tube or to “straw” it. What I really like is the nozzle on the end. You can control the flow of water that comes through, not to mention you can even stop it, when you have to go and empty your bucket of dirty water. That way you come back and put it back in the bucket, turn the nozzle back on, give it a squeeze, and you are good to go again.

I will warn you though – do not take out the tube with the nozzle closed and set it down, because it will empty wherever you put it. If you want to take it out with the nozzle closed, I would suggest taking the tube out and let it hover over the tank, that way the hose will drain into the bucket.

Taming my husband's wild beard!

I ordered this beard oil for my husband.  He is a trucker, and doesn’t always have time while he is on the road to keep his beard groomed, so I figured this would be best for him.  When he came home on a reset, he tried it out.  His beard was a mess, not surprised.  He put a few drops in one hand with the dropper provided, put his hands together and ran it through his beard and mustache.

He said that after combing it through, it smoothed out a lot of his unruly hairs and appeared to make his beard less dull and flat and somewhat softer to touch.  I agree with the soft to the touch, because I don’t like it when it feels scratchy, cause my face tends not to like that.

The ingredients in this I read are 98% certified organic, and is fragrance free. That is a benefit for people who have allergies or don’t want their beard smelling like a barber shop.  He has been using it when he gets a chance at truck stops, and he says that it has actually smoothed out his beard considerably.  I wish I had pictures to show of his beard.  When I do I will update this review.

Enjoying the blue glowing landing disc charger!

I have seen these around and always wondered how they worked – charging without plugging in was a new concept for me. So, not like I didn’t have enough chargers in my house or in my vehicles, I didn’t have a wireless charger yet, so I ordered it.

I have to say, yes, it is wireless, but not completely. Yes, you don’t need a cord to connect it to your phone, but you do need to plug the charger into a USB for it to charge your phone. I didn’t know that, I thought it would be like my power bank and not have to be plugged into a wall or computer. I do like the charger very much, however. I have an LG G2, and when I set it on the charger, it lit up with the display saying “Wireless Charging – 85%”. The outside ring of the device glows a soft blue when charging, but only when my phone is on it. It also glows blue when you first plug it in.

It didn’t take long to fully charge my phone, and I was most impressed. I like that all you have to do is set your phone on the circle. However, there is a certain spot on your phone that has to stay on it. The device charges better when the bottom of it is set on it. It doesn’t work on all phones, though. I guess certain phones have a “chip” to have the ability to charge, and some don’t. My son has an LG Transpyre, and it does not work, and also a Moto phone we attempted – to no avail. So, for now, this is only good to charge my phone. I don’t mind, because that way I know that no one else in my house will have a need for it!

Great charger for vehicle and for house!!

I wanted a new charger for my vehicle because you can never have too many, plus my husband is a trucker, so he takes 1 or 2 on the road with him, in case one goes bad, he has a backup.

I like the fact that it isn’t just made to charge USB devices in your vehicle, but it also has the setup to plug into the wall – no grounding prong needed for this device. I started out by charging my phone via the outlet on my surge protector, and my phone was at 58% - about 10 minutes later, it’s already at 64%. To me, that is impressive. The light on the charger has a blue indicator to inform you that it is “on” – light stays on even there is no USB attached to it – it is basically a power indicator.

It came with a universal USB cord, and it is a little over 4.5 feet long. I am not a big fan of long cords, especially when it is charging in my truck. I don’t want the cord to get wrapped around the shifter. I took one of my own smaller cords and keep it in the console for when I take the charger with me – the cord it came with stays inside for “inside” charging, because then I don’t mind the length of the cord.

When charging in my truck, I like the fact that when the vehicle turns off, so does it, because I have a bad habit of leaving things plugged in there.

We have two ports in our truck – one turns off when vehicle has no key in it, and one stays on no matter what – I make sure to plug into the 1st one each time now. The charge time is the same as if it was plugged into an outlet, but if you don’t want that constant blue glow while driving, and your device is fully charged, take it out of the port, or else you will have a mini blue nightlight.

Great LED for my non-lit closed in laundry area!

I needed a light in my little laundry closet – there are no light fixtures in it and doing laundry in the evening can be a real chore.  I purchased this to make doing laundry in the evening somewhat easier for my kids and myself.

I got it and mounted the back plate with the screws provided – you can either use the screws or the two-sided tape it comes with as well.   Of course, I charged it first, which was about 3-4 hours, because it came partially charged when I got it.  The light, when it is charging with the USB cord it came with, omits a red light from the sensor on the bottom of the light.  When it is fully charged, the light will change colors.

I set it up and turned it to Auto.  I actually had to change it to “On”, due to the fact that it is always dark in my laundry area when it has dual pull-out doors that let no light in, and the light wasn’t turning off.  It does make it easier to see the displays on my washer/dryer, as well as the clothes themselves.  I have had it in there for almost 2 weeks, and have yet to charge it since I first put it up.  I am curious to see how long it lasts…I will keep you posted on when I finally do.

Charge your necessities from across the room!

My son was always losing his USB cord because it wasn’t long enough, and it was black, which blended in with our furniture, or got lost in/under couches.  I saw this and decided if he misplaces this, then he’s just bad at finding things.

What I like about the cord is the long length of it – 10 feet.  I thought it was a bit much, until I went to use it the other day.  I sit on the couch and the nearest plug that wasn’t being obstructed was across the room.  I plugged it in to my phone, and it charged it just fine.

You would think that with as long as the cord is, it would lose power somewhere in the connection.  We have both used it to charge our phones, as well as my tablet, Bluetooth headsets, power banks, and a couple of Bluetooth speakers.

I have also used this to transfer from my phone to my computer, and that wasn’t an issue at all either.  My computer took to it right away, and got what needed to get done.  I like the fact that it is white, as well, as it is easy to spot if you do ever happen to misplace a 10 FT cord!

The insert when it is plugged into an electronic is a secure fit.  I held my Samsung phone up by the cord, and it didn’t pop off, as an example - there is no wiggling about, or becoming unrecognized/recognized again.

Sanitary, Color-coded, flexible cutting mats

I purchased these boards because all I had before these mats was two wooden cutting boards (one large, one medium), and the large one is starting to split.  I have also had them both for a reasonably long time.  Don’t get me wrong, I take care of them, it is just I don’t look forward to bringing out the board to prepare meat, veggies, fruit, etc.  I know that they can never get completely clean, nor are dishwasher safe (being wood and all, the heat can dry warp it out).

I love to make salads, and was looking forward to actually being able to cut the veggies and picking up the mat, fold it like a taco, and dump it into a bowl.  Same goes for fruit for fruit salads, or just a simple cut and slice of apples or oranges.  The same applies to the one I used for beef, where I used it to trim off the fat off of a couple of steaks for the grill.

I like the fact that there is a board specific for a food type.  Now I know that I won’t cross contaminate or have to wash the wooden board in between cutting meat and veggies.  The mats are easy to wash – a simple wash with soap and water, and let air dry in the dish rack.  I don’t have a dishwasher, which is why I hand wash them.  Plus, with the amount of cutting I performed on these, I have yet to notice any cut marks, which happen to be all over my wooden boards, where I know germs hide no matter how you wash them.

So, all in all, I would say these are light, flexible, color-coordinated, and keep food sanitary with the different boards for different foods deal.

Memory Flake Pillow that actually keeps it's shape!!

I’ve had pillows in the past that have the so-called memory foam or the firmness that they claim to have.  Those pillows lost shape and went flat within a month of nightly use.  They eventually became pillows for my dogs or pillows I stuffed into sham cases.

I saw this one, and I thought that this was going to be like the rest – I was wrong.  I received this pillow in a tight little round transparent zip up tote.  I was trying to figure out how the pillow I saw was going to resemble what was in the bag. Well, after opening the bag, and letting it takes its shape for a little bit, it was good to go.

I had to squeeze it around here and there, like it says, to spread the flakes around.  I have laid on the pillow every night for the past 2 weeks, and it has yet to disappoint me.

The pillow is firm, yet has the softness of memory flakes, not foam.  It hasn’t lost shape, or bunched up in clumps to make it go flat. When I get up, it puffs right back up again!  I look forward to going to bed, or even to take a nap now.   My neck doesn’t hurt as much anymore either.  The case is removable and machine washable as well.

Handy, portable Bluetooth kit!

I got this for my phone, in actuality, because my radio in my truck is Bluetooth capable, so I just reversed gears, because I grew tired of my phone display turning off while I was driving. I found that the music quality seems pretty decent, for the most part. If you are listening to your music on your phone or listening to a CD in your vehicle, it has the convenient, self-explanatory buttons that can go forward or go back to replay or skip a song.

The sound quality when I am talking to someone on it seems clear as well. It is not crystal clear, like you were in the room with them, but it does have enough clarity to make out what the other person is saying and no cutting out or static.

All in all, this was a handy little purchase, and will more than likely be getting one to put in my other vehicle or as a gift for my husband, who is a trucker, and can’t talk and drive without Bluetooth. He does have a headset, but I think his earpiece could use a break.

Good dog treat for food allergies!!

I wanted to get something good for my dogs that wasn’t loaded with fillers and by-products. I noticed that these were a better deal on here than they were at the major pet store, and I trust Natural Balance – it is in the name.

They are grain free, apparently great tasting to my dogs (I’ll take their “word” for it. I also like that it is limited ingredients, because one of my dogs has an allergy to certain ingredients, so I have to be choosy on what he eats. I do like the fact that they are thick, hard to break with your hands kind of treats.

This is the first time I have actually seen my Belgian have to lay down and focus on eating the treat. He is actually enjoying it and not eating it just cause it’s there.

My Chihuahua on the other hand, has a little mouth, and I do my best to break it in 2 for him.
He takes both pieces and hides behind my recliner or under my bed to enjoy it without big boy snagging it.

I am glad that these are made with sweet potatoes, protein, molasses, and venison. Most are made with beef, chicken…glad to see a break from the norm.
