Let’s just say, if it involves making life more convenient in my house, and it is of a good value, I am all for it. This time, I needed something for the main bathroom. There are two towel racks, but no hooks to put any other towels or clothes on. That meant sitting on the counter, and I don’t like taking that chance, especially when it’s so near the sink.

The hook works as simple as it is to set it up. I didn’t want to put it on the back of the bathroom door. I didn’t want to take the chance of it hitting the wall when someone opened the door, especially if there was something hanging from it. I put it on the wall and high enough to where you can put a full-length robe and still have room. 

The bracket was a simple 2-screw into the wall set-up. I didn’t use the provided anchors – there was no need to, especially when I screwed it into a support beam. I snapped the hook into place, and locked it into place with the provided wrench. There is no way it is coming loose or moving, and even if I moved it, it would be a simple movement as well.

Activated Charcoal Creme Facial Mask

I have heard of the new hype about activated charcoal. All I could picture was the charcoal briquettes one uses for a grill to cook with, not anything for health purposes. I recently purchased activated charcoal for my teeth. I was impressed on what it could do and benefit from.

When I first opened the container, I noticed that it closely resembled silver paint in a small sample container. It is activated charcoal crème, not powder. When you first go to apply it to your face, you can’t really see it on your skin. 

 It is almost a light transparency when you apply the thin coat to your face. It is meant to remove dead skin cells, dirt, and toxins, which is a plus in today’s world. I also found out that it has vitamins in it, to also keep your skin looking youthful and healthy. 

It says to leave on from anywhere from 5-20 minutes, depending on how quick it dries. I apply a thin coat, but it isn’t like usual face masks. This isn’t one that dries and peels off – this is one that you wait to dry then you wash off. I like that because when I used the peeling face mask, it never came off all at once, and had to peel section by section. I leave mine on for 20 minutes, then rinse. I like the way it tingles while waiting to rinse. Skin feels extremely smooth and soft when all is done with. I am glad I got this for myself.

Bronze Smooth Magnetic clasp

Being one for collecting items to start making her own crafting and jewelry, I needed something that I could use on the ends of certain items, to form a connection, so to speak. For my rope products, I would just melt together the ends, or tie it into a decorative knot, then burn the ends, so it didn’t fray. I didn’t have anything for the ends of my wire jewelry.

I like that the magnetic ends come in bronze, which to me is a neutral color. I am all about neutral colors, because I am not really into color coordination, but I like wearing jewelry that went with just about everything, and these connectors seem to fit the bill. I really like the fact that they are REALLY magnetic. You can’t get them within an inch of each other before they snap together. 

They seem to withstand a lot of pressure as well. They are perfect for 0.4 wire threading, along with a little clamping and twisting, the wire will stay secure on the magnet end. I haven’t had any issues with these yet, and I don’t think I will. I am glad I got these, because I really didn’t have any other option for ending my wire jewelry!

Braided Genuine Leather Cords (Brown)

So, if people don’t know me: I have been recently getting involved with arts and crafts. I have slowly been building my collections, as well as my daughter’s, who has a set of pink camo beads, as well as the tiny rubber bands to make up bracelets. We had those and we had 3 types of wire, what I needed now was some type of rope. 

I chose brown over black, because it is more of a neutral color, better that tan, white, or black rope. I have black chokers, which I like, but that is a different cut of leather, not braided. 

One of the things that I do like about this rope is the fact that it is braided, and not just a flat rope. You can interweave beads throughout the design you had in mind, or you can just simply put beads on the rope and go from there.

Of course, like most ropes, they tend to fray on the ends when you cut them. I happen to keep a lighter in my small kit to burn the ends. I make it to where it goes to the way I want, blow it out, and then press it against itself, to melt the ends. What’s off is I never really thought of doing that, until a few years ago, when I watched my son work on paracord, and that is how he got his to stay together.

My daughter even noticed that it can be used as shoelaces, if worse came too worse, - just cut specific length, melt ends, and lace up your shoes! We haven’t had to do that yet, but at least I know if I ever need to, I can!

Best Baby Shampoo and Conditioner by Lil Leona

Well, for starters, I do not have any little ones around the house that can benefit from Lil Leona Baby Wash/Shampoo/Bubble Bath and the Conditioning Detangler. To be honest, I got this for myself. I have gone through a lot of hair products, and my hair has frizzed, dried out, or has been too dry. I decided to go another route.

I ordered this because baby wash products have minimal ingredients and plus, they are always gentle, without the chemicals. What I really like is that the 3-in-1 is basically all you need to get by in the shower. I have used it for the past 4 nights to wash either my hair or my body and I rather enjoy it. When I use it in my hair, it has a quite pleasant fragrance – you can say it is quite gentle! It leaves my hair smooth and easy to manage, and I love what it does for my hair.

The conditioner is another great hair item. I put it in after I towel-dry my hair. I work it through with my fingers, then use my brush to move it to the ends. It doesn’t have a greasy feeling to it, and doesn’t give your hair that greasy look either. It makes dealing with my naturally curly hair that much easier to manage!

I needed something to go along with other items around the house in order to make some quick jewelry for my daughter and myself. I had the wiring, the end pieces, and other beads, but they were just solid colors from my daughter’s pink camo collection. I wanted something that was more adult, and I went looking.

I like these beads, not just because of their name, but because of what they resemble to me: Earth. Even our teenage son, whose sometimes in his own world, quickly glanced over and said that they looked like the planet Earth. They came in a strand of 100, looped like a necklace. They are 8 mm in size, with a 1 mm opening, which means that you can only fit wiring through the opening. They look better when they are set end to end, which resembles the Earth if split from North to South. My daughter made a bracelet with this, and I think it turned out great.

These are great beads for craft involving wire work, so I assume the possibilities can be endless, even with earrings. Good purchase and now looking for the next thing to make with them!

Navifoce Bare Copper Wire Tarnish Resistant Jewelry Wire

I have a daughter who is into arts and crafts, mainly into making jewelry. I also have a son who’s into repairing and tweaking electronics, which calls for intricate work, and school work, mainly science. As of a few weeks ago, I have been in the mood to make something with my hands, that didn’t involve cooking in the kitchen. 

I wanted to make something that would last more from plate to mouth, so to speak – something tangible and can be seen by others, and possibly appreciated.

 

The wire comes in 3 different colors and I like this: copper, silver and gold. They are extremely thin: about .4 mm, and it is easy to manipulate to go your way. 

I know the size to be .4, because of the 4 that is has stamped on the front of the reel, so no guessing involved. My daughter and I have used the copper wire to make a simple bracelet last night to see how it would hold up. I used some beads and a clasp, and she tried it on, and it fit. 

Mind you, it isn’t the greatest bracelet, but it was just a test to see how the wiring would hold up. I must say, I like it and can’t wait to use it again for other crafts. Not to mention, what my son will be using it for in his experiments!

Wild Caught Omega 3 Fish Oil

I have heard about the benefits of taking fish oil and the fact that it is healthy for you – including heart and liver health. I hadn’t been really into taking supplements or multivitamins, but these seemed to gain my interest because of the benefits of the heart.

When I got this bottle, I couldn’t believe the quantity – it was a large bottle! Although, I wasn’t prepared for the size of the pills – they are quite large as well. I have been taking them in the morning, which is just 2. I definitely don’t take them at the same time, due to their size. I do however, suggest that you take them with more than just a sip of water. I also am in the habit of taking medications before meals, so this isn’t any different. I tend to feel that eating shortly before/after you take something, tends to have less adverse side effects. I haven’t had any side effects from these, but I do notice that sometimes I have somewhat of an after taste, which I assume comes from the fish oil. It’s nothing bad, it’s just not something you’d expect.

I have been taking this since for about approximately 6 weeks now, and I have actually noticed a change in my daily routine. As I am now drinking more water, I see my hair has gotten softer, and I have dropped a about 10 pounds. I didn’t know that this was a weight loss type of product, but I’ll take it.

Beard Balm -- not just for beards!

Obviously, I did not get this for me!  I actually got the Beard Balm for my husband, who has a wild and crazy beard.  He is an over the road trucker, so he doesn’t always have time to care for his beard, nor does he have a chance to come home but maybe once a month.  I like to get items for him that could benefit his time while he is on the road.

He came home a few days ago, just in time to try out the beard balm that just got here! He needed it too, I’ll tell you! When he was done trimming and grooming his beard, he applied some to it. He liked that it had a greasy feeling when you first apply it, but after you apply and comb through, it softened it up a little bit. He had to use more than a once-over, because of how thick it is, but he eventually got it down and there was a big difference. He even used it to tame his unruly eyebrows as well! It added a shine to his beard, and it made him feel good about his face!

He also noticed that when he rubbed his fingers in the tin to get the balm out, it was a little greasy. However, after applying, the greasy feeling went away on his fingers. He simply rubbed his thumb and forefingers together, and it disappeared. It left a soft to the touch feeling on his fingers, as well as on his beard. The gray color of the balm does throw one off the first time, but it is clear when you touch it to your skin. The ingredients are mainly natural oils, and the scent it gives of is spice, not spicy, but a spice like Frankincense, which is very pleasant.

I am glad that he came home to take this with him. Now I know while he is out on the road, he won’t look wild and woolly. This took him absolutely nothing to apply and groom, so I know that he won’t be an issue for him! Oh, and as an added tip: he also uses it on his eyebrows, and it keep them in line too!

Active Yoga Running Pants

My daughter likes colorful clothing to wear no matter what it is! She has jeans and shorts, but not anything that can really be called colorful in the pants department. I saw these, and ended up getting them. I know she likes to wear leggings and capris when she is hanging out around the house or just sitting in her room, so that is why I got these for her. The Pink Paisley design by Military Hippie was the best choice and the closest to her favorite color!

She likes the bright colors and vibrant designs of the pink paisleys!  She says she likes the way they feel on her, and they don’t ride up on her legs like some leggings do when you move around. They also fit her just right around the waist. I’ll admit, I couldn’t wear these because I can’t pull of the look like she can! I am glad I read to order a size bigger than what you are, because they run small. 

They are made of some spandex and recycled polyamide, so there is some stretch and give, as well as drawstrings around the waistline, considering they are meant for working out in. 

 There is also a wide waistband, so there isn’t any bunching up when she sits down. What matters is they look good on her, they fit just right, and they are comfortable to wear just as an everyday item!

Love the softness and pattern adds character to my living room!

Paisley Floor Mat/Rug

Well, throughout my house is carpeting, except for kitchen and bathrooms. I had to get rid of the last rugs I had, because my dogs decided that was their dog mat. No matter how much I tried to vacuum it or clean it, I couldn’t get all the fur out. I have been looking for a rug for some time for my living room, and this one caught my eye.

The rug arrived sealed, rolled and wrapped in plastic film. After unrolling, it rolled out quite nice – only the ends curled up for a little bit. A couple of hours of so later, the ends ended up evening out on their own. I like that the length and width aren’t too much, it is a simple floor rug. The thickness of it feels soft and is thick to walk across when you are barefoot or have socks on, because that is how we normally walk around the house. 

The colors and the pattern of the rug match the tone that I have in my living room. I have dark earth tones, and this rug’s colors go nicely and adds character to the living room. While I was vacuuming, I simply went over the rug, and the dog fur came right up! I see this rug lasting awhile, because of the durability it has already withstood by being in a high-traffic area, and the quality of the material.

Take down your clutter!!

Box Cutter - 4 Heavy Duty Utility Knives

Whenever I receive a package, whether it from Amazon or whomever I bought from offline, I always have to go and get a steak knife to open the box. I have a small letter opener, but sometimes the thickness of the package can deem difficult for it to cut, and I end up usually tearing the tabs off and getting frustrated. I love getting packages, but opening them is a chore!

I got these to make not just my life easier, but my family’s life as well. When we have empty 12-pack soda boxes, cereal boxes, pasta boxes, etc., we usually just got and toss them in our recycle bin, cluttering it up and taking up a lot of room. Instead of ripping one end of the box to flatten them out, we now grab a box cutter to condense the boxes and save space to put more in! What I like about these is the easy retractable blade. A simple push in and up to expose the blade to your liking, and you are good to go.

The same can be said for retracting the blade back to safety, however, it would be push in and down. They cut easily, and saves on the tear down I have to do when UPS comes and I empty out the boxes. I also use them to pop the air bags that come in the boxes to protect the items I bought. I know they are breakaway blades, but we haven’t used them long enough yet for them to become dull. They are all still quite sharp. When one does need to break off, I will update my status!

Bye Bye, Dead Skin!!

Himalayan Salt & Sweet Almond Pink Scrub

Several years ago, while walking through one of the malls where we lived at the time, there was this kiosk. I noticed the sales pitch from one of the salesmen working there, and he said something like “salt from the sea” and “impurities of the skin”. I happen to walk over and he asked if he could demonstrate on my arm. I said okay, and plus, my husband was close by to watch as well. He took the amount the size of a dime and rubbed it in a small, circular motion on my arm. I noticed that it was removing the unseen dirt from my arm and making it smooth, which threw me off, because I bathed that morning – so I got some and used it.

Well, I couldn’t find that scrub anymore, until I came across the Salt and Sweet Almond Pink Scrub. This reminded me of it, and I was curious to see if it worked the same way. I love the fragrance this scrub gives off, and you don’t really smell it until you wash it off. It doesn’t take much to work – I use a dime amount per arm/hand/shoulder, and the same amount on my calves. I haven’t felt my arms this smooth without having to put lotion on, and then feel slick all day. This leaves your skin new and smooth, without having to put on the lotions or the creams. 

The natural ingredients are almost always a big key for me when it comes to having bath/beauty products. With this having 100% natural ingredients, and no harmful chemicals, I couldn’t pass it up. I enjoy that I am putting calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron – key nutrients – onto my skin. I do like that it comes in a jar, and not in a bottle that you have to squeeze our pour into your hands. With this, you just scoop out what you need, and close it up – it’s as simple as that.

Great for a day on the road!!

Denim CD/DVD Wallet Case

I like to listen to music in the truck, plus play movies for the passengers, while I occasionally get to hear them. 

My truck console is under my elbow, and it is 

extremely difficult, while you are driving, to move your arm, open the console, go through the discs, open it, try to get the disc out, and putting it in the stereo system. Most of the time, I end up with broken CD cases, because I don’t close it and put it back in the console, and I’ll have multiple discs in different cases.

What I like about this is the fact it is made out of denim, and not vinyl or hard plastic, and it looks like the front pocket on a pair of jeans. I mean, it is hard plastic, but the denim covers it. It holds up to 60 discs of your choosing, so there is no chance of getting bored of the same music in the car, as well as movie selections for others, when and if they are in the car. The zipper closure goes around three sides with some extra material when you first start to zip up. The carrying strap is sewn onto the top of the case, just like a belt loop on a pair of jeans.

The discs come out easily, and slide in easily as well, when you go to switch out discs. I leave it unzipped on the passenger seat, but closed, that way I can have easy access. I put the music I play a lot toward the front, that way I don’t have to search, and the rest are in alphabetical order. The denim shell doesn’t burn your fingers when you go to touch it if it has been sitting in your car all day!
