My family and I try to make it a point to go camping every year. However, no matter how much we plan our trip, we always forget something, and vow to remember the next time. It seems that we always manage to pack our belongings in duffel bags or in suitcases. I wanted an actual outdoor, traveling backpack, and this seemed to be the one.
I like that it can fit inside itself. What that means is when it is not being used, you can fold the bag up and roll it into the attached pouch that doubles as a storage when in use. When done, it zips up into what resembles an auto sunscreen shade shape. When unfolded, it has compartments on the side, on the top, on the bottom, and of course, the main storage. I also found out that it is resistant to water and that it can take some minor abuse, cause after what I thought would be it snagging on thorny brush, didn’t even damage it.
It has drawstrings to close up the main portion, which I like better than a zipper there, because that is usually the compartment people want to get to in a hurry, and don’t want to worry about a zipper. It is extremely lightweight, and it hangs up on a hook in our hall closet, in its shell, waiting to be used again. I have used the bag for a trip to the creek recently here, and it was extremely useful.
I used the side compartments for water bottles, and I loaded the bag up with towels for my family, sunscreen, extra clothes, and a picnic blanket to sit out on. This bag was a good purchase, and in the future, will be getting another one.
