Saves on buying a screen door!

I have two doors that lead to the outside at my house. One is located in the kitchen and the other, in my living room. There is a security screen door on the front door, but nothing on the kitchen door at all. This is the door that gets most used, because it leads to/from the driveway. Whenever we go out it, it seems that we bring in the flys or other flying insects when we leave it open just to take out the trash.

I also have 2 dogs, and they get curious to want to go out the side door, and then we would never be able to catch them because of all the bunnies around here. I opted in for the magnetic screen because it looked so effortless to put on, and it was. I did as the instructions said, and set it up while laying it on the floor.

I attached the Velcro strip to its mate on the screen, took off the paper backing and went to work on my kitchen door. It was going well, until I realized that my door was a WEE bit narrower than the dimensions on the screen. Not a big deal at all. I stuck the adjoined middle to the top middle of the door-frame, and just branched out. I had to nip and tuck here and there, but that didn’t take away from the screen.

I like the magnetic strips that help keep it closed. They are throughout the middle, not just top and bottom. The bottom of the screen that touches the bottom is also weighted down, which keeps helps to keep it taut, so to speak. The Velcro strips are really clingy, and it takes a good force to take it apart to readjust if need be. It also comes with a small bag of brass tacks for extra securement, should you need any – I did.

Now, I can feel safe to leave the kitchen door open when I am home, provided I have the dog gate up to go along with it!
